Paved/hardtop/gravel, 65km, 4.5 hrs.,

Road bike or hybrid

Park at Julia Bay Park, ideal family run. If you cycle from Gore Bay it is 12km west on #540 to the causeway leading to Barrie Island (continue to head west when #540 turns to the south). You will be heading towards the airport and will enjoy a nice downhill to the waters of Julia Bay on the right and Bayfield Sound on the left. Linger, gaze at the distant cliffs, picnic, swim at the beautiful sand beach and rest a little at the Julia Bay Beach which has toilet facilities, change-rooms, picnic tables and a gazebo.

Continue heading west and take the 5th Sideroad north. Continue on to East Line Rd. Where you turn west. Before long you will come to the municipal office where there are washrooms and non-potable water available. Take note of the century farms and the wildlife. Eagles, sandhill cranes, grouse and white tail deer abound. East Line Rd. comes to an end at White Tail Dr. Follow White Tail Dr. to Goose Cap Cr. Turn right or left and you will come to a township park sign. On this lovely loop, there are two public driveways down to the water with picnic tables, fire pits and toilet facilities. The loop brings you back to White Tail Dr. and then to the East Line again. Follow this road until you arrive at the 10th Sideroad where you will turn right (south). When you reach the South Line Rd. go left (east) back to the causeway and home.
