MAP A) SOUTH BAYMOUTH TO MELDRUM BAY

-Overnight parking behind S. Baymouth harbour on 5th St. Follow #6 north and turn left onto the 10th Sd. Rd. Continue on this road, past a garden centre and over Blue Jay Creek, until you come to Tehkummah. Here you will find a truly unique century-old general store. Turn onto Government Rd. which takes you over the Manitou River, past the road into Michael’s Bay and through beautiful, quiet countryside to Providence Bay. Providence Bay is famous for its long sand beach and boardwalk. You will be tempted to take a walk and swim before continuing your trip. Proceed north from Providence Bay on #551. At Sand Rd. turn left. Continue until you come to Grimsthorpe Rd. where you turn right and head into Spring Bay. Turn left onto #542 and grab any necessities at the general store. Continue on #542 and turn left at Union Rd. Follow Union Rd. past Poplar, to Indian Point Rd. Follow this road until you arrive at #540. Turning left you’ll find a restaurant in Evansville and another in Silver Water. Continue on #540 by turning right in Silver Water. Then it’s straight on into Meldrum Bay, where you can enjoy a lovely harbour and museum. Seasonal accommodations and camping are available. Optional Silver Water Route: leave #540 and take the road straight ahead to Silver Lake Rd. Turn right and follow this scenic road along the east side of the lake past some fascinating old cottages before rejoining #540. Turn left back onto #540 and continue on to Meldrum Bay. Now it's time to decide if you want to stay the night or head to Gore Bay by following #540 back for 50km. Optional side trips along the way are: Sheshegwaning, with its spectacular hiking trail; Burnt Island Road; scenic Cook’s Dock; Elizabeth Bay; Misery Bay Provincial Nature Reserve, with its great interactive information stations and hiking trails; and Mac’s Bay Provincial Conservation Reserve.
